Yoga

Just got to work after my first foray into yoga. It was Bikram Yoga, so I was sweaty. But I gotta tell you, it was pretty awesome. There are certainly things that didn't feel good-- mostly the Japanese sitting pose (on knees, sitting back on ankles), but supposedly it gets better with practice.

I plan to add it into my rotation: Now I'm doing yoga on Friday, Zumba on Saturday and Sunday, and belly dancing on Monday.

  1. It does!! I love Bikram but no one teaches that around here yet! Try using a block right nuder your bum..or a rolled up towel or blanket. that puts less pressure on your ankles. Props are so useful. If you notice your wrists hurting too in like a downward dog and various other things then try a towel just for extra padding!

My friend wants me to teach. I have considered teaching a modified class for beginners and maybe even one for plus sized. When I first started it was so hard especially with my large get in the way breasts.

I am so glad you did it and liked it! I'd love to take a class with you!

  2. @Amanda-- I would love to take a class with you, and the idea of a plus size class is fabulous! My stomach and my breasts get in my way now, and one of the reasons I never did it before is because I REALLY would have had problems and felt self-conscious before. It would be nice to be in a class of the like-bodied, with modified poses that are big boob friendly.

I feel great. Someone actually commented to me in the hall that I looked "so relaxed" today, so I had to tell her why :)

  3. I really have to get back into yoga. I noticed a flexibility difference when i was doing it, so I know it helped. I was just so darn bad at all. All you girls might be inspiring me though.
